Become a Knight

The Council of St. Francis the Poverello at Saint Francis University is looking for fellow leaders to join us in our mission to serve and provide the love, mercy, and charity of our Catholic faith.  Anyone from the SFU Community can join...you can be a student, a member of the faculty, staff, or administration, an alumnus, or even a parent.

In order to be eligible to join the Knights of Columbus, one must:

  • be male,
  • at least eighteen years of age,
  • and a practicing Catholic in communion with the Holy See.

For an eligible candidate to become a member, one must:

  • submit a completed membership form (called a "Form 100"),
  • participate in an interview with the Admissions committee,
  • and attend a 1st Degree ceremony.

We hold about three degree ceremonies per semester and interviews always preceed them.  If interested in joining, please email us at knights@francis.edu with the subject "New Membership".

Best of all, the Knights of Columbus is an international fraternal organization with thousands of councils world-wide!  So when you graduate from Saint Francis University and start graduate school or begin your life as a professional, simply transfer your membership to your nearest council and continue to be an active Knight!

If you would like to answer the challenge from the Holy Father and join our brotherhood, contact us today!  You can stop by the Campus Ministry Center behind the Immaculate Conception Chapel and next to Cafe Gubbio, come to one of our monthly open houses (aka Knights' Nights), or simply email us at knights@francis.edu.
